The piece of Kauri timber that our master woodturner Alby Hall is working on in this photo is the largest he has ever worked with, so large it rubbed his shoulder while working on it.
This 45,000-year-old Ancient Kauri, single piece, eight place dining table took around 200 hours to carve out. That does not include two years from roughing out until dry.
We will be doing a series of blogs and videos show casing our master wood turners and carvers.
Stay tuned for some wonderful stories from the wonderful characters we have in our team here at Ka-Uri Unearthed
